Hands On Our Park website (unofficial) - our ideas.

Re-open Stirchley Grange
This was a wonderful resource - it's up for sale again and falling into disrepair. No money in the budget? Change the budget! If any councillors would like ideas on what not to spend to allow this modest expenditure, we woud be glad to help.
An idea from a councillor!
Councillor Derek White has suggested that the area of land on the Dawley side of Stirchley Lane Methodist Chapel, which is currently used for rough grazing, could be 'added to the park' - it's already in the park, Derek - and used for sheltered accommodation for the elderly. This seems a very reasonable suggestion - what do you think?
The old school site.
We understand that CSV (Community Service Volunteers) have expressed an interest in cleaning up this site. FREE!
Their interest is in restoring this derelict site for the benefit of the community. Initial enquiries to the council about ownership of the site produced the reply 'We don't know'. Luckily they later found out it was theirs.
This would also make an ideal small car park for people wanting to get into the park - there could be a barrier, which local people are only too happy to padlock and unlock at suitable times, as happens at Granville Country Park.
This would be better than the current situation where people sometimes park on the grass verges.
Transport Link within the park
Below is a possible route for a small land train. It could turn round at Spout Farm House (sorry if staff have to park elsewhere) and again at the 'roundabout'. This route takes in Wonderland, goes close to Randlay Car Park (which need some upgrading), avoids Silkin Way with its walkers and cyclists, and takes people into the heart of the park.
Note we show the real boundaries of the park.
