LATEST NEWS

Councillor Derek White is asking for the views of the public about Telford Town Park - please click here to read his letter and find out how to TELL HIM WHAT YOU THINK!!!! Some excellent letters have already been sent in, you can read some of them here.

However ....

This post appeared on 7th September on http://www.telfordcouncilwatch.org.uk - it looks as though part of the Town Park is already scheduled for 'development'!!!!

So is the Derek White consultation a waste of time???

"The Borough of Telford and Wrekin are considering the development opportunities of the former Ever Ready site along with the area towards Paddock Mound for redevelopment.

The Borough is currently discussing options with landowners and the Dawley Regeneration Partnership.

A master planning exercise is being undertaken and will be out for public consultation when it is completed.

This is a very exciting opportunity for Telford and will help regenerate Dawley by creating a mixture of new affordable homes along with potential new employment opportunities.

Telford Trail

From Rob Breeze:

There's a great opportunity on Sunday 17th September to get some exercise, enjoy a walk in the Park, and show your support for HOOP!

The annual Telford Trail is an (up to - you don't have to do the whole distance!) 14 mile walk starting and ending at Spout Farm House and including a picturesque route along pleasant paths through South Telford.

You can also do shorter distances of 2, 8 or 11 miles, or a 40 to 60 minute guided Town Park Stroll. More details of the walk are available from Julie Jones at Madeley Parish Council (278001) or here: http://www.madeley.org.uk/trail_walk.htm

I have decided to do the whole 14 miles, accompanied by Sam and Jack, my deranged spaniels (I think it was actually their idea...), and am going to raise as much as possible in sponsorship, which I propose to divide equally between HOOP and the Severn Hospice. It would be great if as many as possible of you could join me (I don't think the dogs are quite up to pulling me the whole 14 miles) - when I know more I'll sort out sponsor forms, HOOP stickers and leaflets for us to hand out on the day.

No, Mr Odunaiya!

Quoted in this week's Telford Journal, Mr Odunaiya states that 'Plans for the town centre and the town park are ongoing and are not on hold, or in doubt.

Everything is well on track and early discussions are taking place with developers.'

Well, we'll just have to see about that, won't we?
