Are we wasting our breath????

On the wider issue of this council building all over our green spaces - please go to www.telfordcouncilwatch.org.uk and have your say on this issue. A council spokesperson is monitoring the site and asking for views.

Kate Bond's post:

The Borough of Telford and Wrekin are considering the development opportunities of the former Ever Ready site along with the area towards Paddock Mound for redevelopment.

The Borough is currently discussing options with landowners and the Dawley Regeneration Partnership.

A master planning exercise is being undertaken and will be out for public consultation when it is completed.

This is a very exciting opportunity for Telford and will help regenerate Dawley by creating a mixture of new affordable homes along with potential new employment opportunities.

Letters to Derek White

are coming in faster and faster - PLEASE DON'T LEAVE IT TO EVERYBODY ELSE OR TO HOOP - please send an individual letter! Please go here to see how. Some quotes from the letters:

"If the council make the south end of the park the main entrance or if they go ahead with some of the more ridiculous proposals that they want to, our road might as well become a motorway as the amount of traffic using it then will be astronomical. That alone should be enough to say to people,  STOP."

"What borough publicised was a complete alteration to the legal affirmed boundary excluding areas that they now hoped to build upon,"

"Another issue that greatly concerns me is the provision of a transport link along the Silkin Way.  Every weekend and on many weekdays in the summer as a pedestrian, I encounter family groups riding bicycles along the Silkin Way."

" Building houses and facilities would destroy the openness, restrict the access, make it unsuitable for the horse riders and remove most if not all its other utility while holding fairs and other events would ruin the tranquil rural feel of this end of the park as well as causing great disturbance to the nearby residents.  Providing car parking and other access would also be detrimental. "

Please don't leave it to others, please follow the link on the right and tell him what you think.

Some more extracts from the letters to date are here.

Plans still on track ?????

Why are all these lunatics, oops, sorry, brave individuals out in the park in March in a snowstorm?

Because Telford Town Park is under threat from the very people who called it ...

'Telford's Green Lung' and 'The Jewel in Telford's Crown'

It's under threat from the people who said they would ...

'Add an extra 37 acres to the Park' (guess who? yes, Borough of Telford & Wrekin).

Make the park bigger? Hurrah! Sadly, it turns out to be a bit more complicated than that - in fact it turns out to be a bit of a fib. As in, the town park has just been made considerably smaller.
